DBA CBA YLD & CBA Litigation Section Happy Hour

The DBA and CBA Young Lawyers Divisions and the CBA Litigation Section held a joint happy hour event at Wynkoop Brewery in Denver on Thursday, Feb. 20. Approximately 50 attendees enjoyed drinks, appetizers, and some competitive games of pool and shuffleboard, all while mixing and mingling. The purpose of the event was not only to provide attendees with a good time but to also help younger lawyers learn more about the Litigation Section from some of the more senior attorney members.

DBA Young Lawyers holds Barristers After Hours the third Thursday of the month at various locations downtown. For more information, visit dbayounglawyers.org. Barristers Afterhours includes two free drinks and appetizers and is open to everyone.

DBA YLD Movie Night CLE: “Intolerable Cruelty”

DBA Young Lawyers Division held another installment of its CLE movie nights on Thursday, Feb. 13 at the CBA CLE offices. The movie, “Intolerable Cruelty” starring George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones revolved around a divorce and prenuptial agreements. James Garts of Gutterman Griffiths PC lead off the evening with a one-hour discussion of the purposes and enforceability of marital agreements (aka prenuptial agreements) and the changes in the law scheduled to take effect July 2014. Attendees enjoyed some relaxing time with wine, beer, pizza and networking.
