Solo Small Firm Section’s Annual Holiday Networking Luncheon

More than 65 members attended the Solo Small Firm Section’s annual Holiday Networking luncheon held on Dec. 11 at The Warwick Hotel. David Richards and Ilana Reed from Guardian Life/Wealth Strategies Group donated a gift card to Del Frisco’s restaurant. CLE donated some wonderful books,Paychex donated a golf goodie bag and Geico sent an auto safety kit.



Strikes for Tykes Bowling Fundraiser

The DBA Community Action Network (CAN) Committee hosted its fourth annual Strikes for Tykes bowling fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Elitch Lanes in Denver. The family-friendly event raised more than $9,100 for Children’s Outreach Project, a therapeutic preschool and child care center serving Denver and surrounding communities. The center strives to provide young children of all abilities an affordable education. This year’s event included door prizes and a fabulous raffle. The CAN Committee thanks all of the attendees and bowlers, as well as the event and raffle sponsors.



Seniors Holiday Party

More than 35 DBA senior members (those “65 or better”) gathered at the DBA offices on Thursday, Dec. 11, for the annual luncheon to celebrate the holiday season and catch up with old friends. A delicious turkey lunch was followed by a Colorado and legal-themed quiz with prizes.


Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Clinic: The Joy of Giving Reception

On Friday, December 5, the Joy of Giving Reception, hosted by Denver law firm Bachus & Schanker at their office on Wynkoop, achieved a milestone, raising $18,565 for JAMLAC (Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Clinic).

Founded in 2006, JAMLAC is a safe and confidential legal resource for individuals and families struggling with poverty who find themselves in need of legal assistance. Using the services of volunteer attorneys, law school students, paralegals and other volunteers from the area, JAMLAC represents the needy of metro Denver in civil and minor criminal matters including family law, bankruptcy, sealing of criminal records, and quashing of warrants.
