richardson-dMoye White Partner Dean Richardson has been appointed to the board of the Mile High Business Alliance (MHBA).MHBA also announced that the organization was honoring Moye White with an award in recognition of the firm’s support of MHBA’s mission to build a healthy economy.

The IAALS’ April dinner and awards ceremony will be held April 24 at the Ralph Carr Judicial Center.

Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Bender will be recognized for his longtime support of the organization.

Randy Feuerstein, a senior director at Dufford & Brown PC, has been appointed as Editorial Board Chair of the Colorado Association of Home Builders’ magazine, “Colorado Builder.”

Ballard Spahr associate Brittany A. Johnson has joined the board of directors of Freedom Service Dogs (FSD), which pairs highly trained assistance dogs with disabled clients, including veterans and active-duty service members.

Dufford & Brown is pleased to announce that associate, Silke Popp, recently was appointed to the Planning Commision for the City of Wheat Ridge, District IV.

OstermanStephanie Osterman, an associate with BakerHostetler, was appointed to the position of Legal Advisor for Susan G. Komen Colorado. Osterman will attend the organization’s board meetings and will serve as outside General Counsel on a pro bono basis.

Steven Kaufmann, past chair of Morrison & Foerster global litigation practice, has rejoined the firm as partner resident in both Washington and Denver. Kaufmann was managing partner of the firm’s Denver office before President Obama appointed him chief of staff at the Millennium Challenge Corporation. He has international litigation experience in financial services, telecommunications, energy, real estate, logistics and pharmaceuticals.

In Memoriam

Surrounded by family, beloved mother and grandmother, Jean Watson Laird died peacefully in her sleep. She was born to Frank R. and Louella Warson in Worland, Wyoming. Jean attended schools in Worland, taking special voice and piano instruction in Denver during her summers. She graduated from Stephends College in 1946 and attended the University of Wyoming until 1948. While there, she was selected as the Miss Wyoming runner-up. She married Leroy Laird and together they had three children. They later divorced. She married former Colorado Bar Association Executive Director William Miller in 1975, and spent many happy years traveling and entertaining. She was a 50+ member of PEO. Jean’s family was the center of her life. She is remembered for her generosity, her wonderful meals, her sense on humor, her kindness, and her infinite patience.
